Fun with soakers and other junk

Ok, so I cloth diaper (and love it too) but have always used diaper covers that one buys (with Velcro) instead of the knitted and wooly type. Since the little man has been born though, I have figured out that the Velcro on the diaper covers is just plain dieing so I am now knitting like crazy. (and dyeing wool too.) So anyway pics to come on this Mama's knitting. I still need to buy the lanolin wash and the snappis but that is why I shop online (unless someone that read this KNOWS of someone in Fort Myers, FL that sells that locally...).

We think we have found a place to live this next year. It is something like 10 dollars over budget but we can take that out of the 200 we have to food money each month (yes, we somehow feed 2 adults, a 2 year old and now a new born on 200 a month... if people are interested in how I do that I do intend to post about it sooner or later... the more interest the sooner so post.) It lacks a lanai but has a very little kid friendly playground.

We bought a binky

It seems that this little guy can't find his fingers like his older sister did (even though he sucked them all the time before being born...), so I broke down last night and bought a binky. I am so glad I did! I got 4 straight hours of sleep! So much better than the one hour increments I have been getting. Of course this means that I am going to have to break him of the binky some time down the road, but I can do that.

No more sleeping in...

Having a newborn and staying up until 1 or 2 am the night before, I let myself sleep in yesterday (sleeping in is 8 am to me). This is normally ok to do because my daughter who is 2 and a half can't turn doorknobs. Well, yesterday she figured out how to open doors with doorknobs (her bedroom) and basically wandered the house for a few hours before I came out of our bedroom. She had by then found all sorts of "fun" things to do in this time like get into our 50 pound bag of flour and cover herself and in about 5 pounds of it and then proceed to "plant" the potatoes in the flour. It basically took me all day to just clean up the mess she made (though I am very happy to say that she did get several wet wash cloths and mop up the floor all by herself). I am still finding things she got into but the flour was the real mess.

In other news, I am in charge of finding a new place to live in Fort Myers, FL. With the roomies leaving at the end of the month we can't afford to stay in our apartment for another year. The list of things we HAVE TO HAVE are 2 bedrooms, washer and dryer or washer and dryer hookups, centrally located to the hospitals in the area and it has to be under 700 dollars a month (actually we have 700 dollars a month for all housing costs like rent, power, water and anything else they might tack on...) so we are really praying for something to show up. I would really love a lanai, but it is not necessary.

Too much!

I had completely forgotten how much work a baby can be. Don't get me wrong, I love it but I now realize I have too much on my plate, esp. with the internet. So now I have to decide what I am going to cut. I am thinking that Etsy should be dropped (too much work to go out with a 2 year old and a new baby to look for sweaters to recycle, though I could so something like make cute soaps and sell those...) and so should Feature Friday's (I don't have the energy to watch 2 kids and edit it up).

NEW BABY!!!

The baby has arrived! I gave birth on May 1st at 11:06pm. We had a little boy and he was 7 pounds 3 ozs (I don't know how long he was though...) He is so cute. I will get the Friday feature up soon (maybe not today... but SOON!)

ashpags, tizz., and lobug: Thank you.

Aunt Kathy: Thank you. I don't post names, at least of family members. I know my name is all over the net, but I try to keep my kid's and hubby's name off of it.

Turtle: Thank you and you are right the real fun is now happening!

Ruth: I will give him a kiss for you.

knitsational: Thank you.
